Roy
King - a professional armourer and
historian, has not only been making armour and weapons for over
30 years, but also wearing and using them. He has therefore developed
a first hand knowledge of the weight and balance of the weapons
and the advantages and restrictions of body armour.
He
has made armour for the Royal Armouries Leeds,
demonstrated European fighting and archery to Samurai in Japan,
instructed S.W.A.T. team commanders in the USA on the penetration
of body armour with bows and arrows. He has also done work for major
T.V. and film companies. He is employed to give talks, lectures
and demonstrations by schools, colleges, event organisers, government
bodies, historical societies, and can be seen regularly on the Open
University.
Roy
stocks a large range of helmets and weapons from all periods of
history available for immediate delivery, as well as taking on commissions.
Weekend or mid-week courses on arms and armour can be arranged at Roy's workshop for small groups. Contact Roy for details |
